to create a vision of the future, identify strengths and challenges and identify goals necessary to move the district forward to meet the challenges of the 21stcentury. We will be discussing the action plans, goals and objectives of the district, the challenges that we face, and ways in which we can tackle those challenges.  Our primary goal is to turn our vision into a plan so that we can effectively meet or exceed the needs of our students.


No action will be taken.

Elementary School Packets Available August 25th

August 11, 2014

Beginning Monday, August 25, 2014, please come to the Lopatcong Elementary School to pick up your child’s Back- To-School Packet.  The Back-To-School Packet will contain arrival and dismissal information, your child’s homeroom teacher, transportation information (if applicable), and additional forms that need to be filled out and returned on the first day of school.  The packet will replace the letters/packets that have been mailed home in previous years.  The Lopatcong Elementary School Office is open from 8:00am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday.  Packets can be picked up between Monday, August 25, 2014 and Tuesday, September 2, 2014 by parents and/or guardians.

Please see the attached information regarding arrival and dismissal of car rider students.  The third page of the attached document is a form that needs to be filled out and returned in order for you to pick up your child’s packet at the elementary school.  This procedure is to ensure the safety and security of all students.  It will also help us properly dismiss students throughout the school year.  (If your child had a Car Rider number last year, they will have the same number this year.  You must still fill out the attached form.)


School begins on Thursday, September 4th!


Preschool and kindergarten students and parents are invited to meet their teacher and see their classroom on Wednesday, September 3, 2014.  This will be an informal Open House.

AM preschool and kindergarten students and parents may visit starting at 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.

PM preschool and kindergarten students and parents may visit starting at 11:15 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.



Grades 1-4:  Thursday, September 11TH at 7:00 p.m. – This Open House is for PARENTS ONLY.

Preschool & Kindergarten:  Wednesday, September 17TH – This Open House is for PARENTS ONLY.

Parents of AM students should arrive for 7:00 p.m.

Parents of PM students should arrive for 7:30 p.m.



Friday, September 26th will be a half day.  Preschool and kindergarten will have a modified schedule on September 26th.  Complete information will be distributed soon.

Backpack (big enough for a standard folder to fit without folding)

2 glue sticks

1  two- pocket, plain folder, without prongs, with the  student’s first and last name on it.

*Please be sure to mark all of your child’s belongings with their name



1 24 pk. Crayons (not bigger)

3 large Elmers glue sticks

5 – #2 Ticonderoga sharpened pencils

2 large erasers

1 pencil box (no zipper cases)

5 laminated 2-pocket folders (purple, blue, red, green and yellow)

1 dry eraser

3 dry erase markers

1 yellow highlighter

1 scissor



3 ring binder-1 inch, 2 pockets, hard cover

5 laminated two-pocket folders (1 blue, 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 green, & 1 fun choice)

1 pencil box-hard case or zipper pouch

1 box of 24 crayons

12 sharpened pencils

2 dry erase markers

1 dry eraser or old sock

2 glue sticks

1 pair of blunt scissors

2 highlighters



Zipper soft pencil case

5 pocket folders of different colors

Eraser for a whiteboard (a sock is acceptable)

2 whiteboard markers

Items 1-6 are to be stored in the zipper pencil pouch.  Therefore it is important to check that those items will fit before coming to school with them.  This will ensure that you will have the proper supplies for each class because you will switch rooms for different subjects in 4th grade.

Also note that as the year goes on it is important to replenish supplies so you are always prepared for class.
