“Citing a Source”
Always give credit when you use material that is not your own original work.
When to “cite a source”
- When you use a person’s words, ideas, opinions or theories.
- When you use diagrams, pictures, illustrations, graphs, letters, charts or sounds.
- When you quote or use the exact words a person spoke or wrote.
- When you paraphrase or put in your own words what another person said or wrote.
